WINDSMATH Research Talk Video Festival 2026
About the Festival
The Women in Mathematics and Data Science Research Talk Video Festival 2026 is an online showcase celebrating high-quality research outputs from early-career female and non-binary researchers in mathematics, machine learning, and data science.
The Festival aims to increase the visibility of female and non-binary researchers while recognising excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary impact across mathematics and data science.
This Festival is part of the Women in Data Science and Mathematics (WINDSMATH) Seminar Series, an initiative dedicated to highlighting outstanding research and fostering a more inclusive scientific community.
Research Areas
The Video Festival features research that applies machine learning, mathematical modelling, and data-driven approaches across a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
• Foundations of Machine Learning
• Probabilistic Modelling and Stochastic Processes
• Dynamics, Geometry, and Structure in Machine Learning
• Machine Learning for Scientific Discovery
• Machine Learning for Real-World Applications
• Ethics, Fairness, and Responsible AI
Together, the Festival and WINDSMATH aim to amplify emerging voices, create visible role models, and support the next generation of researchers shaping the future of mathematics and data science.
Call for Video Submissions
We warmly invite early-career female and non-binary researchers, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior academics, to submit a 10–15 minute research talk video presenting their recent work in mathematics, machine learning, and data science. The research presented in the video must be based on a published paper or a preprint.
All submitted videos will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the WINDSMATH review committee to ensure scientific quality, clarity, and accessibility.
Video submission period: January 1, 2026 – February 15, 2026
Review period: February 16, 2026 – March 16, 2026

Participants are required to complete the online form and provide a shareable link to their research talk video. Eligibility details and video specification requirements are provided in the submission form.
Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Clarity and quality of presentation
- Technical soundness and correctness of the methodology
- Novelty and significance of the research contribution
- Accessibility to a broad, non-specialist audience
All submitted videos will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the WINDSMATH review committee to ensure scientific quality, clarity, and accessibility. Videos that pass peer review will be published on the official WINDSMATH YouTube channel:
